Seeing, perceiving and understanding oneself as the bearer of the truth. “I know how it should be done”, “I make the rules”. The conviction that there is only one truth and that it belongs to me, that I alone know it. Therefore everyone must live as I do, as I have said, by my rules. The idea comes before the person.
An insistent marking out, a proving of their presence in this world — I EXIST! (“I am strong, I can defend myself”). Difficulty in noticing other people's boundaries, inattention and disregard for them (outer as well as inner) -> a regular violation of other people's territory and boundaries. Verbal “exhibitionism”, blunt truth-telling. Excessive control over the situation and everyone in it. An underdeveloped basic trust in people, in the world and in themselves.
Most people think they are unique. And at the same time they cannot say what exactly sets them apart from millions of others. Yet being aware both of what we share with other people and of our own distinctiveness is the foundation of understanding yourself, of reading people well and of the skill of influencing those around you. In this article I will tell you whether a human being is unique from the point of view of psychology as a science. And I will answer the question: a person's uniqueness — what is it, exactly? I will even hint at how uniqueness can be measured
