Dividing people into introverts and extraverts is frowned upon — and quite wrongly so. The difference between them is so fundamental that it lies behind domestic quarrels, religious reformations and the irreconcilability of whole ideologies. It is so striking and so obvious that you might think these were people from different planets. If we grasp this difference, not only will our own lives get easier — the world will get better.

The question of “how to live without working” was a favourite topic in the “viper's nest” — the all-female audit department, aptly nicknamed that by the lads from the department next door. Meanwhile every woman taking part in these discussions was busily working overtime, dreaming of a prince on a white Tesla who would rescue her and free her from the yoke of labour. There were, of course, some among them who rather enjoyed such a schedule.

There are people whose psyche is honed for movement — unlike others, who are driven now by emotion, now by rationality. These people are masters of non-judgmental perception and of the “nothing personal, it is just business” style of communication. They are people with the naturological Ego type, and their basic mental instrument is “Contact with Reality”.

There are people whose psyche is tuned for emotions. Unlike those who tend to settle everything with their head, these people settle everything by intuition, by sensations and by inner states: by attraction and aversion. And that is wonderful, because we are talking about people with the ‘Psychological’ Ego type, whose main mental instrument is ‘Contact with Emotions’
