Those who know me well know that in my work I very much enjoy working with teenagers. I remember bringing a sandbox into the children's home for sand play therapy, and how astonished everyone was at how eagerly our difficult teenagers began to play. Yes, they played; at first they made a show of finding it completely uninteresting, of it all being for “the little ones”, but once they had started they could not stop. Well, the collection of Marvel superheroes certainly played its part too.

Behind every great man there is a great woman? I would say that behind every infantile Rescuer there are unhappy relatives. And nowhere is that easier to see than in the Mackenzie family in the series “Big Little Lies”.

How should parents behave when a child (a girl aged 3 to 5) starts fighting for her father's attention? Or a boy for his mother's? How do you react when, for instance, a girl competes with her mother for daddy's attention and tries to “knock” her mother out of the conversation? What do children often do when they see mum and dad hugging? They try to wedge themselves in between them.

Relationships with other people matter a great deal in the life of everyone, because by nature we are social beings. All of us want relationships that are comfortable and that feel good to us.
