The fears of psychopathic personalities
What do psychopathic types fear? Since their right to “Be” is violated, a serious problem arises inside them with making sense of the space around them (“where do I end and where does the outside environment begin”). That is why they actively “gestalt” and shape the environment through strict control.
Hence the obsessive urge for power. It matters to them to be in charge, so that there are plenty of subordinates. That allows them to do the same thing — to control. Losing control over the situation and over the people involved gives them a sense of comfort and stability.
Hypocrisy, falseness and deception are very painful for them, because they disrupt the “world around them”, which now has to be shaped all over again. Betrayal (breaches of promises and agreements) likewise disrupts the psychopathic type's inner notion of the universe.
In a social setting they will not put up with rigid restrictions and unfounded prohibitions. That covers both physical and moral and ethical prohibitions, since prohibitions set boundaries — and boundaries are something psychopathic types simply do not take in mentally. From the same source comes their negative reaction to inequality, to double standards and to “injustice”.
They are also afraid of weakness, of displaying it and of it showing itself in any form at all. As a trait, they are afraid of love: love makes you weak, and for them that is very frightening. Stupidity and superficiality provoke mockery and aggression in them: after all, that is a “weakling”.
