The epileptoid personality type

Passive Extravert in Contact with Emotions

What the epileptoid type should strengthen

This is not a list of flaws — the strengths of the type are already there. What follows is what it usually lacks, and what can be built up with practice.

In short: letting go of resentment, forgiving · stopping the hysterics · generosity, “I have enough” · asking for attention directly · logic and cause and effect

Letting go of resentment, forgiving. Not dwelling on grudges and negative emotions, but allowing yourself to move on. Forgiveness eases not only your own state, but your relationships too: you can build bonds without constantly looking back at old wounds.

Stopping the hysterics. Being able to stop your own emotional outburst at will and to manage your reaction. For this type it is the key sign of emotional maturity.

Generosity, “I have enough”. Valuing what you already have instead of focusing on what is missing. Accepting the idea that “you can never have it all” takes the sting out of envy and rivalry, and noticeably improves your emotional state.

Asking for attention directly. Allowing yourself to state your needs and wishes openly, without fear of being judged. Speaking up for yourself directly works better than roundabout routes, and it improves how you see yourself.

Logic and cause and effect. Seeing the link between an act and its consequence — this protects you from impulsive moves and helps you recognise your own share of responsibility more precisely.
