What do hysteroid personalities fear?
The main fear of hysteroids is the fear of losing attention. Most of these personalities had some kind of “slip-up” (a fixation), and a violation of the right to provision took shape at an age when needs and attention are rigidly bound together. If mother’s attention is there, then all needs are met. And hysteroids, naturally enough, did not get enough of their mother’s attention. Later on this spills over into the attention of a partner and of society. If the people around me are paying attention, then they will do what I need and will meet my needs.
In the hysteroid, this need is voiced as a cry from the heart
“Love me, hate me, only don’t leave me and don’t stay indifferent”
A hysteroid is terrified of losing attention, because “I have a finger in every pie. I’ll play you anything you like, as long as you love me.” Or hate me — for a hysteroid it comes to the same thing.
In particular, this shows up as a fear of
- Being unattractive, plain, old, physically flawed
- Being drab, standard, ordinary in the way they come across, of “looking like everyone else”
- Hiding emotions and feelings, being inexpressive
